She is always a novelty;

"... for she is never the Chicago you saw when you passed through the last time." - Mark Twain

That's the type of interior design I'd like to bring into our house: I will always find elements of surprise that keeps the style refreshing yet timeless; I will want to make time to stand in front of a certain corner, and pick up ounces of pleasure and inspiration.

She should always be a novelty to me.

For a very long time I've wanted to put together a wall gallery. Options contributing to a gallery collection are endless such as fine art vs. photography, vintage vs. modern abstract, and symmetrical arrangements vs. frames of different sizes, etc. A wall gallery can be a significant investment depending on what goes inside the frames and even the frames themselves. After months of research, I have finally decided on Antique Botanical Illustration Prints by Pierre-Joseph Redouté -- how should I put it? -- I am an old soul trapped in a young body.

So here I present you my first wall galley: the two in the middle are originals with the one at the bottom named "Iris Sisyrinchium - Iris double-bulbe à fleurs violet-pâle" from "Les Liliacees" almost impossible to find these days. I bought them from an antique shop, and still couldn't believe the collector would give them up for me.

This is what the mantel looks like now with the botanical print gallery over it. This segment has become the novelty of this room.
